RECYCLING SERVICES
COMPOSTING
Compost has the ability to help regenerate poor soils. The composting process encourages the production of beneficial microorganisms which will in turn break down organic matter. This increases the nutrient content in soils and helps retain moisture. Compost has also been shown to suppress plant diseases and pests, reduce or eliminate the need for chemical fertilizer, and promote higher yield of agricultural crops.
RECYCLING CONCRETE & ASPHALT
Concrete & Asphalt recycling is an increasingly common method of disposing of the rubble. Concrete & Asphalt debris, once routinely shipped to landfills for disposal, is now collected from demolition sites and put through a crushing machine often along with dirt and rocks. We only accept uncontaminated concrete and asphalt, which must be free of paint, metal, wire, rebar, brick, clay pipe, trash, wood, paper and other such materials. The loads can not be mixed they are to be either all concrete products or all asphalt products. We accept brick and brick mixed with concrete which is processed separately from the regular concrete products.
Smaller pieces of concrete and asphalt are used as gravel for new construction projects. Sub-base gravel is laid down as the lowest layer in a road, with fresh concrete or asphalt poured over it.
* All incoming loads of materials to be recycled are subject to inspection. Any load deemed unsuitable by J.F. Price Co. or Bates Bros. Granite Co. will be turned away.
*We do not accept fill of any type and we do not accept any materials from places designated as Urban Fill areas. Examples of these areas are Boston, Brockton, Taunton etc.etc
